We scaled its heights - and grimaced. I didn't really know what I was letting us in for when I ordered this starter. (Yes, it was an 'appetizer', not the main dish.) I thought it was a typical menu illustration where the picture has been magnified a hundredfold. It was, but that didn't mean the original was a rational size. I have a little more respect for menu illustrations now. Needless to say, our meal ended here.
(We had also ordered some corn and cheese poppers. They were only marbles, in comparison, and disappeared as soon as they appeared on our table.)
The dish itself underwhelmed, despite its overwhelming proportions. Beans in a hot cream sauce with some vegetables and lettuce swimming in it? Nah!

ReplyDeleteOur appetizer platter for 4 contains 4 Mozzarella cheese fries with Marinara, Nachos with chili cheese on top, 4 spicy Chicken Wings, Celery with Blue cheese dip and huge portion of Onion rings with more dip! Yeah! We pack most Entree` of Burgers and slammers home for dinner and we donot step into that restaurant again for a month! ;D
Hot cream sauce in Nacho? Hmm..! Not a usual Nacho recipe but probably Indianized Nacho. Great color though.
It does look like a mountain, almost like a volcano with sauces pouring out ;)

ReplyDeleteWell, Sra, I am pretty speechless. Thank goodness you did not make this, for it is just plain fuggly. Even here, where everything is ginormo, this would be a stretch. ; D Shame to have to pay hard-earned money for such piece of work.
ReplyDeleteI had nachos the first time I went to movies out here and never touched them since. The salty chips, the fake yellow cheese and the spicy peppers on top somehow did not do it for me as they did for my friend.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Asha, it looks like the same size as a typical ameriacan restaurant. I love cheesy nachos, if it wasn't for the ginormous portion size, I would get it all the time.
